Did you know that it’s possible to promote affiliate offers on YouTube? Nothing is stopping you from cashing in on the massive amount of traffic that YouTube has to offer. You can make out like a bandit if you produce high-quality videos that get the attention of viewers.
Anyone who is looking for a great way to cash in on the internet marketing boom should look no further than YouTube. There isn’t a site online with the same opportunity to make money off of easily gotten traffic. If you create videos people find useful, they will subscribe and share your videos and also buy affiliate offers that you suggest to them.
1. Gain the Trust of Your Subscribers Before Marketing to Them
Trust isn’t something that you gain overnight. It takes a while for people to trust you. How do you gain the trust of your subscribers? You do so by being consistent and posting information they can use over the years.
Gaining trust isn’t easy, and you won’t do it overnight. Anyone who thinks they can build a YouTube channel out of thin air and make money affiliate marketing has something to learn. It takes time and dedication to turn your subscribers into customers.
You need to come across as genuine and not a wolf in sheep’s clothing. You need to take off your marketer hat long enough to appeal to the senses of the viewer. Try your best not to seem like a fast-talking snake oil salesman.
Very few people respond to hard sells, and you’ll end up pushing people away who would’ve otherwise been customers. Do your best to appear to be warm, caring, and gentle in your videos. If you come across as a pompous jerk, then you’ll get nowhere fast.
2. Don’t Promote Affiliate Offers in Every Video
At first glance, this hack doesn’t appear to make any sense at all. Why wouldn’t you put affiliate offers in every video if your goal is to make money? The reason you don’t is that you want some videos to be information and nothing else.
Why? The goal here is to get traffic to those videos and add more subscribers to your list. A long educational video will rank higher on YouTube than a quick video where you’re pounding affiliate offers left and right.
While there is no percent of videos that shouldn’t have affiliate offers in them, it’s best to make at least half of your videos information-based and nothing else.
You’ll gain far more subscribers, and your watch time will be higher if you work hard at building up a large base of subscribers. If you have tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of subscribers, they will react much better to your videos with affiliate offers if you sprinkle them in occasionally.
3. Make Sure to Let Watchers Know They’re Clicking on an Affiliate Link
Watchers of your videos will feel like they’ve been duped if they learn your content has affiliate links, and you don’t tell them. It’s okay if you slip and forget to say to the viewer that there’s an affiliate link, but generally speaking, you always want to disclose this information.
People have no problems clicking on affiliate links and buying something from them if you’re upfront about it. How many times have you purchased something online and did so only because you were referred via an affiliate link? You and your subscribers don’t care if someone makes money off of the links as long as they’re honest about it.
You don’t need to go on forever about how you’ll make a commission if someone buys using the link. Tell the viewer briefly what they’re clicking on and that you’ll make a little money if they buy something.
That’s all you need to do to make sure that the person watching your videos feels like you’re truthful with them. Everyone knows that we all need to make money somehow, and the viewers expect that marketers will try their best to make money.
4. Don’t Do Anything Shady Like Tell Lies to Get People to Buy From You
Doing shady things might mean that you refer your viewers to products or services being sold by companies that aren’t legit. Some people might also lie about how much a product costs. Anything deceptive is a bad idea since word will get around fast that you’re a scam artist.
If you have the comment section open on your videos, the people watching them will leave comments telling others not to buy what you’re promoting. People who watch YouTube will notify others and let them know if something isn’t right. You won’t get very far with deceptive practices on a platform like YouTube.
If you’re unsure about a company, then be upfront about it. You should tell the viewer that you don’t know anything about them, but what they offer seems pretty good. A little honesty goes a long way, and people will understand if you’re not fully aware of everything that goes on with the company.
Sometimes a new company will launch a product, and it’s appealing to you, and you know that your subscribers would like it as well. Promoting something new by a company you’re not sure of is different than lying about how much a reoccurring service costs to get people to buy it.
5. Try Your Best to Promote Products and Services That You Use
If you want to make the most money from affiliate marketing on YouTube, then you should only market products and services that you use. It’s also a good idea to show your viewers how you use the products. If you use an online tool, for example, make a video showing them how you use it.
If you’re promoting something off of Amazon, it’s best to have the item in your hand and show people how to use it. if people see you using the product, they are more likely to buy it. The viewer will know that you’re not suggesting the item solely to make money off of them.
Nothing is worse than landing on a product review only to find out that the person in the video has never used the item. You feel like you’re being scammed in the worst way, and your subscribers will feel the same way.
If you don’t own or use the product, it’s best not to talk about it. Your conversion rate won’t be very good if you can’t show off what you’re selling. It’s possible to sell something if you’ve never used it, but it’s not a good idea.
It’s a waste of your time to create videos of affiliate offers that you know very little about. Ask yourself a very simple question… How can you know if something is worthy of someone’s hard-earned money if you haven’t used it yourself?

Some of you are freaking out right now because you don’t want to be on camera. There are plenty of ways to make videos without ever being in front of the camera. Tomorrow’s celebrities start today on YouTube, and that’s not going to change anytime soon.

Be upfront, honest, and do your best to educate the masses, and you’ll make money off of your affiliate offers.
